How Do I Get A Loan?
How Do I Get A Loan From Big Tim’s Pawn
If you have never been to a pawn shop you are not alone. The National Pawnbrokers Association says that 7 out of 10 people have never been to a pawn shop. Unfortunately pawn shops have gotten a bad image from media and word of mouth, but mostly from, their own bad acts.
Big Tim’s Pawn works hard to be a place where anyone would feel comfortable buying, or selling something as well as getting a short term loan. There are some rules to working with us though. In order to comply with all the rules and regulations the state has and to get you the best deal possible, take a minute to be better prepared.
Selling Or Pawning Merchandise:
- The item must be your possession.
- You can not sell or get a loan for someone else
- You must have what is called “possessor title”
- Failure to have this is a crime in Florida
- We are required to submit every transaction to the local police department every night
- If you bring us stolen or misappropriated merchandise you will be caught
Test & Clean The Item
Looking around the garage and picking up something that hasn’t been used for years and is covered in dust or grease will only make the pawnbroker’s job more difficult. If it looks like you don’t care about or value the item, the pawnbroker certainly won’t place much value on it, either.
Call Us First
Call us at 727-916-PAWN (7296) to be sure it is an item we are interested in taking. Sometimes we have too many guns, VHS tapes, VCRs or car stereos, etc. Make sure the item is complete. Televisions without remote controls, tool sets missing pieces, video cameras without cords and chargers are far less valuable than complete items.
Have Adequate ID
We will not buy or loan you anything without ID. Make sure you understand the terms before you leave if you don’t ask we can not tell if you do.
Everything Is Negotiable
Big Tim’s wants to loan you as much as possible but the merchandise has to be of value. Remember that while you get your money today we have to store your merchandise and insure it for up to 60-days before your collateral becomes our merchandise. Big Tim’s would much rather you pick up your items than try and sell them 60-days, 90-days or even a year later. We are in the loan business first.
Keep Your Pawn Ticket
Big Tim’s charges a $2.00 fee for lost ticket
Due Dates>
Mark the due date on your calendar. Call us if you think for any reason you will not be able to pick up your item on time, we will work with you.
Picking Up Your Item
Pick your item up well before the due date. Don’t wait until the last minute to redeem items you cherish. Invariably, things happen at the last minute that may cause you to lose your items. Traffic, job responsibilities, illness, transportation problems, any unforeseen difficulty may cause you to be late. The pawnbroker has to sell items that are not redeemed on time.
